Vista Enterprises Incorporated’s (VEI’s) QuikAlert is the only screening tool able to
detect bacterial contamination above background levels directly from a food product
and provide the results on the spot in 20 minutes. No laboratory time or expense is
involved and no equipment is required. The QuikAlert kit supplies enough material to
conduct 50 tests and is easy to use. Simply moisten the QuikAlert swab with the buffer
provided and use the QuikAlert swab to obtain a sample from the food product. Wait
20 minutes and add a drop of the second fluid and look for a color change. If the food
tested has bacterial contamination present, a purple coloration will appear on the swab.
