RFI Introduces Organic Apple Extract
with 50 Percent Polyphenols
Apples are the largest source of phenolic compounds in the U.S. diet. These
free-radical quenching, immunity-enhanc-ing, and disease-fighting flavonoid compounds are well established as the key
components linked to the health benefits
of diets rich in fruits and vegetables.
Research supports the value of apples and
their polyphenols in cardiovascular
health, weight management and exercise performance. Our Organic
Apple Extract is standardized to 50 percent polyphenols and can be used
to add antioxidant power and other health benefits to functional food applications, beverages and dietary supplements.

New Fresh-Look Cartons from
Evergreen Packaging
Evergreen Packaging has recently introduced the
Fresh-Look carton—a new paperboard package with
a window that allows customers to preview the
product inside when shopping as well as gauge how
much is left so they know when it’s time to buy
more. In Acupoll testing, consumers preferred
Fresh-Look packaging over other types of packag-
ing. Customers can also feel good because Ever-
green cartons incorporate renewable material—over
70 percent of the carton is made from paper using
trees from responsibly managed forests. Evergreen
cartons are made with renewable energy. Ever-
green’s “Tru-Taste” barrier board is specifically designed to keep oxygen out
and vitamins and taste in—helping lock in freshness and extend shelf-life. Cold
foods also often stay cold longer in paperboard packaging.
